The Song Celebration grounds will be secured with guards on June 22nd, during rehearsals and the celebration itself. Additionally, there will be volunteer assistants on site whose instructions must be followed.

Transport and Parking

  • If possible, come to the rehearsals using city buses, by bike, or on foot.
From June 10th to June 22nd, showing a Song Celebration wristband allows for free rides on Tartu city buses. Bikes and scooters can be parked on June 22nd at the free guarded bike parking near Entrance A on Laulupeo Puiestee (see site map).
  • If you must come by car, consider carpooling. There are not enough parking spaces near the event, and there is no designated parking area for performers. The lower parking lot at the Song Celebration grounds is closed and can only be used with a parking permit.
  • If a group arrives by bus for rehearsals and the celebration, the bus can stop in the lower parking lot near Tähtvere Street. Buses can park at the Estonian University of Life Sciences sports hall parking lot without a parking permit.
  • Parents of children’s and youth choir singers can stop in the lower parking lot near Tähtvere Street to drop off performers. There are no designated parking spots for transporting singers. If needed, park farther away and walk with the performer to and from the rehearsal. Arrange a meeting spot outside the Song Celebration area gate, as parents cannot enter the grounds. Please be understanding.

Entry

  • For security reasons, no one can enter the rehearsals on June 22nd without a wristband. This means that if a group comes to pick up items on Saturday, wristbands must be distributed to performers at the gate beforehand.
  • Access to the performers’ and organizers’ area on June 22nd is only allowed with a wristband. Parents and others bringing children to rehearsals can not enter the area. Organizers ask that meeting spots be arranged outside the gate of the Song Celebration area.
  • Pre-packed wristbands, meal coupons, and program booklets await groups at the festival club MÜLÄ (Kroonuaia 76) until Friday (June 21st) from 3-7 PM. If you cannot pick them up at that time, the group envelope can be collected on Saturday (June 22nd) from 8:30 AM at the info tent near the B entrance of the Tartu Song Celebration grounds (see site map).
  • Bring your own raincoat, as umbrellas are not allowed in the Song Celebration area.

Rehearsals

  • Rehearsals will be conducted according to the rehearsal schedule, and attendance is mandatory.
  • Arrive at rehearsals 15 minutes before the assembly time for your choir type.
  • Listen carefully during rehearsals, note the times and places for assembly during the celebrations.

Campsites

  • You can set up your tent in the performers’ and organizers’ area starting June 21st; there will be night security. No wristband is needed for access on June 21st. Tents must be removed on Saturday evening after the celebration.
  • Tents can only be set up on the grass under the birch trees, where there are no movements of choirs. The organizer asks you to consider that there are many performers and to be mindful of others when setting up tents.
  • Personal belongings are not monitored in the Song Celebration area and campsites. Everyone is responsible for their own items.

Catering and Water

  • Performers who have ordered the Song Celebration soup will be catered at the catering tent next to the stage near the radio house according to the meal schedule.
  • Access to the catering tent and soup is based on meal coupons. Meal coupons can be collected with wristbands.
  • Catering will be done with reusable dishes, which must be returned to the catering tent immediately after eating.
  • Performers who have not pre-ordered soup can not purchase it on site. If desired, food is available in the food and trade area near Entrance A (see site map). Various food vendors will be on-site from the start of rehearsal day.
  • Bring your own water bottle; you can fill your bottles with clean drinking water.

Medical Aid

  • Medical personnel are available on the Song Celebration grounds to assist with injuries and other health issues. Medical tents are red and marked on the area map.
  • For chronic illnesses, bring your own medications.

Filming and Photography

  • The Song Celebration and the preceding rehearsals will be photographed and filmed. Photos and videos will be used on the website, social media, and shared with media outlets.
  • The Song Celebration will be recorded and broadcast by the Estonian Public Broadcasting. The broadcast can be watched on June 22nd on channel ETV2 starting at 6 PM.

Waste Management

  • Waste will be sorted at the Song Celebration. Trash must be placed only in designated bins and bags. Please be mindful and help reduce the environmental footprint of the festival! Detailed instructions for waste sorting can be found in the green guide.
  • Eco-ambassadors will be on site to assist with waste sorting if needed.

Substance Use

  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is allowed only in designated areas (see site map).
  • A. Le Coq will offer only non-alcoholic beverages in the performers’ and organizers’ area. Alcohol consumption is prohibited in this area.
