Tartu Dance Celebration "Juure juures"

Tartu Dance Celebration “Juure juures” I

Tartu Dance Celebration is about finding and valuing your roots, and about the bond between children and their ancestors.

Our conversations are often cut short in everyday life, and we never ask the really important questions. Recordings of conversations that go beyond “how was school” or “are you feeling fine” are played at our two dance shows.

What would a child of 5 ask their grandmother today? What about an adult of 35? What would you ask if you no longer had the chance? “Juure juures” highlights our ancestors and makes us think about the values and wisdom we inherit from our grandparents – and the ones we carry on ourselves.

Approximately 2,300 dancers and 12 types of dance groups are represented at the celebration. Foreign Estonian dance groups make their debut at the dance celebration.

The dance show lasts approximately 2 hours.

The dance show takes place at two times: from 4 pm to 6 pm and from 8 pm to 10 pm.
